“We should do this more often.” Ana said, her green
eyes gleaming. She pouted. “I have to go. I’m sure
Leah would be wondering where I am. I told her I was
just going to the ladies room.”
They both put their swim wear back on. Nataniel
opened the door and peered outside. No one was about
at the moment.
“Okay, the coast is clear.”
“Thanks.” Anastasja gave him a quick peck on the lips.
“See you later.” She made a dash for the beach.
Nataniel sighed. “Gosh, what am I going to do?” he
wondered. “First Sophia. Now Anastasja. Emelia still
acting like a bìtch. I don’t think I’m ready for this.” He
looked around and slowly headed back to the beach.
Sofia panicked. She jumped up and grabbed her
sister’s arm. “No Emelia!!! Please!!! Don’t tell him!!! I
promise, I’ll leave him alone!!!”
“You sure?”
“Yes!!! I won’t go near him again!!” She couldn’t bear
thinking of the shame she’ll go through if anyone else
found out.
Emelia gave her an evil smile despite her own tears.
The hate she felt at that moment for her only sister
seeped out every pore of her body. “From now on, I’ll
take care of him MYSELF!!! You just keep your pathetic
arse out of our affairs. I don’t want to see you near him
ever again you STUPID BITCH!!!”
Sofia gasped. She couldn’t believe her sister was
saying all this to her. After all they had been through
together. She had practically raised her after the death
of their mum. They had been through a lot over the
years, and now it had come down to this. Squabbling
over a man. She couldn’t take it. She couldn’t bring
herself to fight with her only sister over him. She would
rather let go, no matter how painful it was for her.
“O…okay.” She finally said, defeated and deflated. The
tears kept flowing down her face. “I understand.” Her
hands trembled and her fingers gripped her dress to
steady her shaking body. “I’ll stay away from him. I’ll
leave him to you.” She choked out. She looked at her
sister, who turned her back to her in triumph.
Memories of them growing up together flashed before
her eyes. With stained cheeks, Sofia turned and left the
room.
